River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond opened on June 25, 2004, and has had new owners since June 16, 2026. A partnership of Petroglyph Development Group, of Snuneymuxw First Nation, and Musqueam Capital Corp, of the Musqueam Indian Band, bought it from Great Canadian Entertainment.

Owners and operator

River Rock Casino Resort is owned by a partnership of two companies. The partners are Petroglyph Development Group, of Snuneymuxw First Nation, and Musqueam Capital Corp, of the Musqueam Indian Band. They bought the casino from Great Canadian Entertainment and have owned it since June 16, 2026.

Petroglyph is the economic development arm of Snuneymuxw First Nation. The Nation is its sole shareholder. In Petroglyph's own words, "all profits go back to the Nation". No split of ownership between the two partners is on record, so this guide gives none.

Owning and running are separate in this province. BCLC conducts and manages casino gambling, and private service providers run the casinos. This guide uses "runs" for the operating company. No operating company for River Rock is named on record, so none is given here.

The River Rock sale followed other changes involving Petroglyph Development Group. Petroglyph closed its purchase of Casino Nanaimo and Elements Casino Victoria from Great Canadian on January 16, 2025. It took over Great Canadian Casino Vancouver in Coquitlam on May 5, 2026. On June 16, 2026, Petroglyph and Musqueam Capital Corp, as partners, became the owners of River Rock.

The floor has more than 1,100 slots, 108 electronic table game terminals, more than 80 live table games and a 10-table poker room. Restaurants include Gordon Ramsay Steak, KOI, Zio's and Sea Harbour. A sky bridge joins the casino to the hotel, which has nearly 400 rooms and 19+ check-in. The Show Theatre holds 1,000 people.
